I'm Creating this more for just myself, to keep ideas and recipes where I will always know how and where to find them; no matter where I am...

I probably won't update very often or possibly even remember I have it after this next week, but I thought it was a good idea so I'm going with it for now.

Your welcome to look, comment and even join in if you would like. I just thought it would be fun if nothing else!

So lets enjoy!

If you want to be actively involved with this blog and share some of your fun ideas let me know. Email me at macijill@hotmail.com and I will add you to the list!

Changing Table/Dresser

I don't know if this one really qualifies as a craft, more of a remodel. I had the old dresser/changing table that my parents used for me as a baby. At first I didn't realize that it was, it was just a dresser I had used for a long time growing up. And when it came time to find the perfect changing table for Bladen, I didn't have to look very far. It was in perfect condition, just in need of a little paint and some nobs, some from this century. I wish I would have taken pictures of the old ones before they found their new home at the dump, they were quite comical, its hard to imagine that they were ever in style...

Bladen's Nursery is Turquoise, Black, and White, in case that hasn't been made clear by now...

So the dresser was a cream to start with. So I started off by painting the edges blue, the edges? Weird I know... And then I painted the whole thing black! Once it was all dry, I sanded/roughed up the edges so that the blue would show through. In some places I sanded a little harder than I was wanting and the cream showed through too, but it looks white, and just made the matching layers even more layered than originally planned! I was pretty excited with the outcome!

Now all I have to do is make a cover for the changing pad, and we will be in business. But as for right now it is a much better dresser than changing table!
